"دينار ودنانير" مجموعة قصصية للكاتب فهد المصبّح يوظف فيها عناصر المفارقة والتصويرية، والرمزية، وهذه العناصر تتشكل - في أحيان كثيرة - من خلال الصور الفنية، أو المفارقة اللغوية، وأحياناً من الألفاظ المختارة بعناية، ما خلا الرؤية الفكرية التي ترافق كل قصة، والتي تتم عن معرفة بشؤون الحياة وهي مستمدة من الحياة الواقعية للمجتمع العربي، تلك التي تهم القارىء العربي وتغري فضوله، وتخلق لديه شهية القراءة، وهذا ما حققته إشارات الكاتب في عدد من النماذج القصصية المنتقاة، أولها في قصة "ملك الغابة" الذي فوجىء الجميع بتركه عرشه، وقراره الدخول إلى المدينة، ليتضح في نهاية الأمر أنه يريد ضم الجميع إلى مملكته وتحت طوعه، لنقرأ هذا المقطع:
" ... هل ترك العرش زهداً فيه؟ أم زاحمه منافس؟، هل جاء يبغي العون؟ أم تنحى حقناً للدماء؟، هل جاء غازياً ينشد المزيد؟ أم بشيراً ينشر الخير والسلام؟ أسئلة كثيرة تعترك في رأسه الذي أطل لأول مرة على هذه المدينة المتحضرة. كانت أخبارهم تصله بوسائل إعلام سرية. كانت رموزاً ، آخرها تؤكد حرصهم على كسب جانبه، وتشوقهم إلى لقياه، فجاءهم بالوعود والأماني ..." وعلى هذا الدرب تسير قصص المجموعة بما تنطوي عليه من مضمون سياسي ناقد، أو درس إجتماعي، أو معنى أخلاقي.
يضم الكتاب أحد عشر قصة قصيرة جاءت تحت العناوين الآتية: "ملك الغابة" ، "فرق إنقاذ" ، "القضية" ، "دنيا - ودنانير" ، "طاقات مؤجلة" ، "صراع" ، "لقيا" (...) وعناوين أخرى.
