هذه مختارات مسرحية أخرى من أعمال الكاتب الكبير يسري الجندي يكتمل بها تقديمنا ستة عشر نصاً مسرحياً، تعد من ظاهم أعماله المسريحة، التي لاقت رواجاً وإقبالاً جماهيرياً على مسارح مصر والوطن العربي، وتضم هذه المختارات خمسة نصوص مسرحية وهي: (الإسكافي ملكاً، واقدساه، حدث في وادي الجن، وأيضاً تقدم عملين مجهولين لم ينشرا من قبل وهما: مسرحية الطفل الجميل الذي لم يمت والتي كتبها عام 1965، ومسرحية بغل البلدية التي كتبها كأول نص مسرحي له بالعامية عام 1969 بعد مسرحية ما حدث لليهودي التائه مع المسيح المنتظر)، وكل منهما كان يحمل مؤشرات واضحة لثمار مشواره الطويل، ومسيرته الفنية، التي قدم فيها عطاءً أثرى الحركة المسرحية والحياة الثقافية ميزته بين كتاب المسرح المصري والعربي.
