إن موضوع الدراسة عن المقابر البغدادية في العصور العباسية المتأخرة، في الوقت الذي يتعرض تراثنا في الشمال والوسط من العراق إلى هجمات شرسة من عصابات داعش (لعنهم الله تعالى ورسوله (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ومن والاهم وساندهم وموالهم مادياً وعسكرياً وإعلامياً، وهم في جهنم خالدون)، وقد عملوا عمداً على تدمير وهدم وإزالة المراقد للشيعة والسنّة والنصارى دون تمييز نظراً لحقدهم وجهاهم بالإسلام وكفرهم، وهم النازيون في القرن الحالي، ونحن المسلمون حريصون على تخليد تراث المراقد المقدسة والقبور العامة من أجل إحياء وإستذكار الحسنات لهم، والإقتداء بمناقب الصالحين، حيث قسمنا الموضوع للدراسة إلى خمس فصول وتكلمت في الفصل الأول عن وصف جغرافية وتاريخ بغداد، والفصل الثاني عن مقابر الجانب الغربي، أما الفصل الثالث: فقد خصص الحديث فيه عن مقابر الجانب الشرقي، والفصل الرابع كان عن مراقد بغداد، كذلك الفصل الخامس يتناول الأولياء والصالحين والأعيان من ذوي الحسب والنسب في بغداد بجانبي الكرخ والرصافة من كافة الطوائف المدفونيين في بغداد من الأعلام العلماء والوجهاء تغمدهم الله برحمته الواسعة.
