المرح تناثر فينا والأذهان تطفو على سطح من الاتساق فيبلغ الشعر غايته، كما تبلغ الموجة حدود الشاطئ لتغسله، ثم ينقطع التواصل على الرصيف الذي نهم في قطعه لولا سيارة فخمة من النوع العائلي حمراء اللوحة تأتي مسرعة، ولا تنوي التوقف أمام خط المشاة خطنا إلا في اللحظة الأخيرة، فأجذب صديقي كيلا يدهس. تفتقت جذور الشعر والألوان بالموقف الصلب الذي انتزعنا. لعل السرعة آتية من لون اللوحة.. عكس الإدراك تصلب صديقي يرفض قطع الرصيف عناداً، بعد أن كان يريد قطعة في التوقيف الخطأ، وأخذ يلوح بيديه احتجاجاً. جذبته للمرة الثانية، فما كان للاحتجاج، على كونه حقاً، من داع، إذ بسطنا الأمر، أفلحت في جرّه لكن بصره ظل يعاند السيارة، وعندما وصلنا الرصيف الآخر، كان الراكبان قد نزلا وأحاطانا بالغضب فتفجرت الكلمات شخصيات تارة، أو مواقف طوراً، أو مواقف طوراً، أو التقطيع البارع إلى مشاهد متلاحقة مترابطة أو منفصلة، على غرار الشريط السينمائي، كما تميز الكاتب بامتلاكه القدرة على تتبع أدق خلجات النفس البشرية، وعلى كشف الزيف الذي يتراكم تحت السطح بالرغم من المظاهر الكاذبة التي تغلفه وتحاول التغطية عليه. لذا فقد فتحت جائزة القصة القصيرة، في المسابقة التي نظمتها مؤسسة عبد المحسن القطّان إلى كل من ماجد عاطف عن مجموعته الطفو"، ومنير زعرور من مجموعته "عطش الأولياء".
مُنحت جائزة القصة القصيرة، في المسابقة التي نظّمتها مؤسسة عبد المحسن القطّان ضمن برنامجها للثقافة والعلوم 2001، إلى ماجد عاطف عن مجموعته الطفو ومنير زعرور عن مجموعته عطش الأولياء.
تعتمد مجموعة ماجد عاطف لغة شعرية وإيقاعية في آن، كما تعتمد التقطيع البارع إلى مشاهد متلاحقة. ويتمتع المؤلف بقدرة على تتبع أدق خلجات النفس البشرية.
أما مجموعة منير زعرور فتتميز بلغة اليومي وتستوعب فضاءات واسعة مع اجتهادات في الشكل. وتمثّل المجموعة كتابة ناضجة ومتمرسة تتمتع بحسّ مفارقة وسخرية خصبة، ومهارة في دمج الصغير بالكبير والشخصي بالسياسي.
