وقد رُتّب الشعراء حسب تاريخ ميلادهم، واختيرت لكل واحد من الشعراء العرب قصيدتان.
وأُدرج للشعراء غير العرب نص أو نصان مترجمان إلى العربية، ومعظم النصوص في الكتاب من القصائد التي ألقيت في المهرجان .
يهدف مهرجان القلب الشاعري إلى إنشاء جسور بين الشعوب من خلال الشعر والموسيقى والأغاني، وتدور قصائد المهرجان حول موضوعات السلام والحب الإنساني والتفاهم بين الشعوب وحماية البيئة بالإضافة إلى موضوع الأمّ في المهرجان الثالث، وموضوع الصّداقة في المهرجان الرابع.
