لقد أصبحت الحاجة ملحة إلى وسائل أكثر أمناً في العلاج نظراً للخطورة الشديدة التي تسببها الأدوية الكيمائية، والتي وصفها الأطباء الصيدلانيون بقولهم، "إن الدواء سم قد ينفع أحياناً" أي أنه رغم ضرر المواد الكميائية التي تحويها الأدوية إلا أن نسبة انتفاع الجسم منها قليلة، والله عز وجل الذي بيده الشفاء هو الذي طلب من العبد أن يتخذ الأسباب اللازمة لكي يشفى مما حل به من مرض وقد كان هذا الأمر واضحاً في حديث رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وسلم) حين قال: "لكل داء دواء إلا الهرم".
ومن ضمن وسيلة الأخذ بالأسباب هو البحث عن أفضل تلك الطرق والوسائل وهي العلاج بالنباتات والأعشاب والفواكه والخضراوات، وقد ركزنا في هذا الكتاب على ثلاثة من تلك الفواكه وهي التمر والعنب والرمان، وسر اختيارنا لذلك يرجع للأهمية الكبرى للثلاثة، كما أننا أردنا أن يكون الكتاب صغير الحجم حتى يسهل اقتناؤه لذلك سوف نفرد أعداداً أخرى لباقي الكتب التي تتحدث عن باقي النباتات والأعشاب والفواكه والخضروات التي تساهم بشكل فعال في شفاء الإنسان من المرض، ومن خلال استعراضنا لما ورد في هذا الكتاب سنجد أن البلح والعنب والرمان يشتركون جميعاً في شيء مهم جداً ونافع أيضاً لبني الإنسان ألا وهو قدرة الثلاثة على مقاومة آفة السرطان اللعين- أعاذنا الله وإياكم منه- ورغم هذه الأهمية الكبرى إلا أن دور تلك الفواكه في حياتنا أصبح نادراً جداً ولا سيما البلح الذي لا نأكله سوى في شهر رمضان وفي وجبة واحدة فقط هي وجبة الإفطار وربما تجاهل كثير من الناس أكله حتى في شهر رمضان.
لذلك كان هذا الكتاب وغيره من الكتب التي صدرت في ذلك الميدان بياناً واضحاً شافياً للناس لكي يعودوا إلى ما تخرجه الأرض من خيرات أفضل من تناول الأدوية والعقاقير
