يعد موضوع دراسة التحف الخزفية التركية والمدافئ في القصور العثمانية بمصر من الموضوعات الهامة التي تلقي الضوء على أهمية دراسة هذه الأواني الخزفية الموجودة في المتاحف المصرية حيث أن معظم ما وصل إلينا لا يحمل مكان الصنع أو تاريخ الصنع وأصبح من الصعب تحديد الزمان والمكان لمعظم هذه التحف. أما بالنسبة للمدافئ الخزفية الموجودة في العصور العثمانية فلم يسبق دراستها من قبل في مجال الفنون الإسلامية بمصر وغيرها من الدول العربية، ولقد تناول الباحث حسام هزاع هذه الدراسة بنوع من التفصيل الدقيق للزخارف والتصنيف المميز لها، من خلال أربعة فصول هي: (الفصل الأول: المشكوات الخزفية والزهريات والدوارق والأباريق والقنينات، الفصل الثاني: الأطباق والسلطانيات الخزفية، الفصل الثالث: المدافئ الخزفية في القصور العثمانية بمصر، الفصل الرابع: الزخارف)، وذلك وفق دراسة تاريخية وثائقية وألقى الضوء على كثير من القصور التي تضم هذه المدافئ كما قام بإلحاق صور لهذه التحف في الكتالوج الخاص بهذا الكتاب مما جعل هذه الدراسة فريدة من نوعها ومتخصصة على أساس علمي يرجع إليه طلاب البحث العلمي ووثيقة علمية إضافية فريدة وجديدة للفنون الإسلامية خاصة التحف الخزفية والتي يمكن الاستفادة من النماذج المقلدة لها في المنشآت السياحية أو أنها تباع كتذكارات سياحية وسوف ينتفع بهذا الكتاب طلاب كليات الآثار والسياحة والفنادق وسيكون إضافة للمكتبات العربية.
