الحكاية التي نسجها الضجر لباساً لملل طويل من الإنتظار اللانهائي لسكان هذه الصحراء التي تعبث بمصائرهم وأرزاقهم، الحكاية التي صاغتها الريح لتتخلل مسامات بيوت شَعَر الماعز المثبتة في الأرض على عجل ليسهل إقتلاعها حتى حانت ساعة رحيل مباغت بعد وصول نذير الماء.
هنا تحت هذه التلال الموحشة ساهم سكان المقام المؤقت في رسم تفاصيلها كما رسمتها لهم عقول الشموس الضارية والليالي المضمّخة بروائح القهوة السمراء، وطعم الهال وتبغ مهرّب من الحواضر القريبة من شمال مضاربهم المشدودة بحبال الصبر والمجدولة بصدى غناء حزين، التبغ الممتزج بعرق أجسادهم يرصّونه في طرف من عظام سيقان الخراف النافقة ويشدونه من الطرف الآخر فتأخذ لوناً أصفر في إختراع يقارب "البايب" الغربي الذي نقله الأتراك إلى حيلهم المكتسبة، يلوّن شواربهم المبرومة المدببة الأطراف كعنوان لفحولة مرسومة في الخارجي وإن ناقضت ما هو داخلي في كثير من الأحيان.
