يعيش راڨي، في بداية شبابه، في عاصمة شبه جزيرة شيتسو. هناك، أين لا يشبهه أحد؛ بينما هو يشبهنا جميعاً. فهو الإنسي وسط المسوخ، الرجل المتوسط بين الحالات الخاصة، والمجنون وسط من لا عقول لهم.
يحاول فك طلاسم الماضي ليعرف مستقبله وحاضره، قرر أخيراً أن يفهم سبب العهد الذي قطعه في صغره لوالده الذي على ما يبدو لم يكن صادقاً بما يكفي. ومن يدري، قد يفتح راڨي عينيه على السطح أسفل منه؛ ويحاول ملامسة كل سطح آخر لا يراه.
