- "صناعة الشِّعر في النَّقد العربيّ القَديم" (دراسة ومُعجَم)، أوّل بَحث يُعالج قضيّة الخَلق الشِّعريّ وصِناعة الشِّعر بهذا التخصُّص، في تلك الحِقبة من تاريخنا النَّقديّ، ويتناول بعض النقّاد مِمَّن لم يُدرَسوا من قبل، ويعالج أيضاً آراءَ الشُّعراء في عمليّة الإبداع الشِّعريّ، وقضيّة المفاضلة بين الشِّعر والنّثر.
- يعالج آراء النقّاد في المرحلة الممتدّة من القرن الخامس حتّى مَطلَع العصر العثمانيّ، وذلك، من دون أن يُغفل الإشارة إلى آرائهم قبل ذلك، مستفيداً في الوقت نفسه من آراء النقّاد المعاصرين، العرب والغربيِّين.
- يَشمل أهمّ القضايا التي أثارها النقد العربيّ القديم في دراسة الشعر وإبداعه، وذلك من خلال خمسة أبواب رئيسة، هي: الأصول، والمهيِّئات، والبواعث، والأدوات، والخَلق الشَّعريّ... ليختم الكلام بوقفة عند قضيّة التقليد والتجديد في النقد.
- وقد اعتمد الباحث المنهج التاريخيّ في تَناوُل موضوعاته، الأمر الذي ساعده على ملاحظة تَطوُّر الفكرة النقديّة، فعرضها موازناً ومقارناً بما لدى النقّاد، وقد كانت لآراء النقّاد القدماء والمعاصِرين دورُها في ألقاء بعض الظَّلال الشّارحة الموضِّحة.
- وشفع الباحث عمله بفهارس تسهّل على القارئ الرجوع إلى الأعلام، ومسائل الشعر والنقد والبلاغة، الواردة فيه.
- هذا، وقد أُضيف إلى هذا العمَل ثَبتٌ بالمصطلحات النقديّة، وهي كثيرة، مقتصراً على تلك التي للقُدماء دون المحدَثين.
