تستوي الدراسة في تمهيد وفصول ستة تسبقها مقدمة وتتبعها خاتمة, ويعني التمهيد بالإشارة إلي جهود المرحوم أ.د أحمد مختار عمر المعجمية, ثم تحليل عنوان المعجم محل الدراسة, يليه وصف طباعي له, ثم الحديث عن مقدمة المعجم, وعنوان الفصل الأول بمدخلات الصناعة المعجمية (المقدمة - الأختصارات - الرموز - الألوان - أختيار المدخل وأنواعها - المصادر - إحصائيات - دلالة المصطلحات).
وأهتم الفصل الثاني بمنهجية الترتيب في المعجم (الجذور - المداخل - التجمعات اللفظية), ودرس الفصل الثالث التعريف في المعجم (المعني وطرق الشرح - التنوعات الشكلية - المجالات الدلالية), وعني الفصل الرابع بالأمثلة التوضيحية (أهميتها - أنواعها - ملاحظات عامة), وتناول الفصل الخامس المعلومات المستخدمة (الصرفية - النحوية - الدلالية - معلومات الأستعمال - الموسوعية - الهجاء - النطق).
وكانت تتمات الصناعة المعجمية (الإحالة - الترقيم - الشواهد الصورية - الفهارس - التصحيف - الإخراج الطباعي) موضوع الفصل السادس, وقدمت الدراسة في الخاتمة ملخصاً وتعقيباً ونتائج وتوصيات.
