هذا الكتاب الذي نقدمه للباحثين العرب، هو محصلة لقاءات عديدة جمعتنا بالدكتور (عز الدين المناصرة) في نهاية الثمانينات، وأوائل القرن الجديد، وقد استفدنا منه كثيراً أثناء عمله كأستاذ بجامعة تلمسان (1987- 1991) ولمسنا في أحاديثه، التي كان يرتلها علينا بين الحين والآخر، رغبة (مفكر عربي)، لا يألو جهداً في تغيير الوضع المتردي، الذي آل إليه البحث العلمي في المؤسسة التعليمية الجامعية بكلمة طيبة، برأي سديد، بتوجيه علمي مؤسس، بإبداء إقتناع بفكرة بعد طول تفكير؛ إن هذه القيم الإيجابية التي ارتهنت إليها المناقشات العديدة، أفضت إلى صياغة بعض الحلول حول إشكالية تلقي (المعرفة السيميائية) في المؤسسة العلمية وكان لا بد أن نتناقش حول صعوبات المعرفة السيميائية، وصعوبات الترجمة.
وهكذا أنجز هذا الجهد المشتركة في (الترجمة)، و(المراجعة) في هذا الكتاب، الذي يضم ستة نصوص نقدية سيميائية، لعدد من الأعلام المؤسسين في فرنسا، حيث تشكلت مدرسة باريس السيميائية، بقيادة غريماس.
