تُعدّ أعمال "بلانشو" اليوم هي الأكثر مقروئية في فرنسا وخارجها، خاصة في أمريكا التي ارتبط فيها اسمه بـ"الفلسفة التفكيكية".
وتُمثَل أعماله ثمرة تجربة ترحال عبر ثلاثة حقول متداخلة: السياسة، الفلسفة والأدب، لكن العبور عبر خطوط تَماس هذه الفروع المعرفية ظل محكوماً بأفق مخصوص للأدب، فالأدب عند "بلانشو" هو الإمكانية القصوى للتفكير فيما ظل طي النسيان.
لقد دَأب "بلانشو" على الإِعمال الجذري لهذا المفهوم المبدع للأدب وذلك من خلال جملة من المفاهيم: المحايد le neutre الخارج le dehors، العتمة la nuit الكاتب، الأدب، الموت، النص، اللغة، الكتابة القراءة... لعلّ ذلك ما يؤكده هذا العمل الذي نُقدم هاهنا ترجمته العربية الأولى: "الجماعة الغامضة".
سيسمح العمل الأدبي، ولربما أفضل من غيره، بتقصي ماهية الجماعة بوصفها سراً، لكنها السر الذي لا يخفي شيئاً، ليست الجماعة مما هو معطى في شيء، بل إنها ما سيحلّ أبداً الجماعة، إذن، إمكانية مفتوحة، فسحة الحرية التي تسمح بإمكان الأغيار بما هم كذلك.
إن هذا المفهوم المستجد للجماعة لم يُشرع في بنائه إلا مطلع ثمانينات القرن الماضي وذلك بعدما تجلّت، نظرياً وعملياً، حدود التصور الماركسي للجماعة، أي الجماعة المبنية على مبدأ المطابقة، مطابقة الجميع للجميع، إختزال الفرديات في نموذج معطى سلفاً.
