الشاعر الشيخ حسن صادق، صاحب هذا الديوان، رجل دين إلى جانب كونه رجل أدب وشعر وهو بذلك ليس بدعاً في عائلته، إذ إنّه سليل بيت عاملي عريق في علو المكانة في المجالين الديني والأدبي ومجال الشعر بوجه خاص، وإن تاريخ جبل عامل، قديمه وحديثه يؤكد، بإكبار، هذه الحقيقة الموضوعية.
"ولد في النجف الأشرف سنة 1889 وتدرج على العلم والأدب كسيرة آبائه يتوارثون العلم والفضيلة أباً عن جد. وما ظنك بمن أبوه الشيخ عبد الحسين ذلك الفطحل".
"نشأ في بيت علمي أدبي يتوارث أبناؤه العلم والأدب أباً عن جد ولهم في ميادين الفخر حزم وجد. وتحت ظل والده العالم القدير والشاعر الكبير أخذ من علومه وآدابه ونهج نهجه وحذا مثاله حتى نبغ وصار من أهل الفضل، وقد عرف بين أقرانه بالفهم والذكاء وسرعة البديهة وحسن الخلق وكان بهي الصورة جميل الشكل".
"اشتهر الشاعر الشيخ حسن صادق بين إخوانه بالفهم والذكاء وسرعة البديهة وحسن الخلق. أتقن مبادىء العلوم وهو في سن مبكرة ودرس الفقه والأصول دراسة وافية، وأساتذته أمثال شيخ الشريعة الأصفهاني النجفي والسيد كاظم اليزدي وغيرهما".
إن الشيخ الصادق كما تدل قصائده الوطنية والقومية كان رمزاً حقيقياً من رموز النهضة التي عاش عصرها منذ أوائل القرن الماضي وقصائده توحي بعلاقة التواصل والتواشج مع فكر عصر النهضة ورموزه الكبيرة .. حتى لتبدو آراؤه وأفكاره من الجرأة والتقدم بحيث لا تتجاوز عصرها فحسب بل تتجاوز عصرنا الراهن لجهة تشخيصها المستنير لأمراض الطائفية والتخلف الفكري والسياسي وهي بهذا السياق تفضح واقعنا السياسي الوطني اللبناني الراهن حيث يظهر هذا الواقع بوصفه امتداداً وتكراراً لما كان عليه في الأربعينيات من القرن الماضي .. كما أنها تفضح واقعنا العربي الراهن لجهة تفشي الجهل والتفكك والإنهيار وغياب الوعي النهضوي الذي رأى فيه شاعرنا الكبير أساساً لواقع الضعف والتخلّف والإرتهان للسياسات الإستعمارية.
