يُعَدُّ الأمير عادل أرسلان مناضلاً في قافلة المناضلين العرب وشاعراً من شعرائهم، أولئك الذين يرتفعون بهاماتهم وتنبتُ بين أصابعهم أغصان الحرّية اليائعة، هم الذين لا يرفّ لهم جفنٌ إبّان المِحَن ويتصبّرون. عَبَرَ كما "يعبرون الجسر في الصبح خفافاً" جسراً يواصلهم إلى أكتاف الشمس، في الصبح يعبرون، برشاقة الأسود المتحفّزة للحرّية، حرّية البلاد العربية من الإستعمار، إنَّه الأمير الذي علَّم أنَّ الحصون لا تبنى من أعلى إلى أسفل، وأنَّ العروش لا تحمي من الموت.
إنَّه أحد الشجعان الذين مرّوا في هذا العالم محلّقاً كما النسور، استطاع أن يحمل الشعلة وقد أوقدها نُبلاً وتضحية وشهامة، وعَهِدَ بها إلى أصحابها، وبعدها اطمأنَّ، بينما يتبارى الذين يستطيعون أن ينفضوا غبار السنين ورماد الحروب عن سماتٍ بشريّة حيناً، ملائكية حيناً ويزيلوا عن ذاكرة الشعوب بؤس ما اعتراها من تآكلٍ ونقصان، خِشيةَ أن تخبو شعلة الحقّ والإنسانية.
لقد قام الأستاذ "محمَّد جابر" مشكوراً بهذا العمل القيِّم، ولأنَّ الكبار فعلاً يولَدون كباراً ويغادرون كباراً، يستعيد في هذا الكتاب مآثر أمير السيف والقلم؛ السيف الذي لم تخدشه تحدّيات أو إرادة، والقلم الذي سطَّر نثراً وشعراً حرّاً كالنسيم الذي ما عانى في رقّته فرادة، رغم مرارة الوغى.
