يُعد كتاب "المباحث المشرقية" من أهم الموسوعات العلمية العربية القديمة، وقد ألف فخر الدين الرازى فى القرن السادس الهجرى الثالث عشر الميلادى، وهذا الكتاب يضارع كتاب: "المعتبر فى الحكمة" للعالم ابن ملكا البغدادى، ويضم الكتاب بين دفتيه آراء فخر الدين الرازى النظرية، بأسلوب فلسفى جدلى فى عدة علوم يجمعها فى رأيه فى علمين: علم الوجود الطبيعى فى علومه الكيميائية والفيزيائية والطبية وغيرها، والعلم الإلهى، وقد إعتبره الرازى بطريقته الجدلية علماً يمكن أن يُسمى بالفلسفة الأولى.
وقد اكثر الكلام فى مباحث الأمور العامة بأسلوب لم يسبقه إليه أحد، فكان يبحث فى المسائل الخلافية ويذكر الآراء فيها ويحققها، ويذكر الصواب فيها، وكذلك بحث فى أكثر المسائل الفلكية والمسائل الطبيعية وعلم الفلك، وعلم الرياضيات، والهندسة المستوية، وعلم النبات، وعلم الأرض.
وقد أعلن فخر الدين الرازى فى كتابه آراء خالف بها رأى ابن سينا، ومنها أن علم المنطق علم مستقل بذاته، وليس آلة يستخدمها العقل فى تحصيل الأمور الموجودة فى العالم، وليس مدخلاً للعلوم الأخرى، وأن علم الكيمياء علم صحيح وحقيقى، وليس علماً باطلاً كما يذكر ابن سينا.
وقد وفقنا الله فى العثور على ثلاث نسخ خطية لهذا الكتاب الموسوعى الرائع الذى يُعد من أهم الكتب الفلسفية فى الحضارة الإسلامية، فحاولنا جاهدين إخراجه فى أبهى صورة، وندعو من الله التوفيق.
