هبت عاصفة هوجاء حملت معها الورقة التي كانت تحمل رقم هاتف أمل، اخذت أجري خلف الريح لإستعادة تلك الورقة التي كانت تحمل بضعة من أحلامي المبعثرة.
لكنها سقطت وسط الشارع المكتظ بالمارّة، وداست عليها السيارات التي لم ترحم المشاعرة الرقيقة، والآمال الكبيرة التي كانت متعلقة بتلك الورقة الصغيرة المتمردة مثل صاحبتها.
هنا شعرت بخيبة أمل وأني أنا دائماً أصل متأخراً، أو أن القدر أراد أن يعطي هذا الرجل كل ما أحبه دون أن يكون هناك سابق معرفة بيننا.
وفيما كان ميتش يقدم اللوحة إلى أمل انحنى لتقبيل يدها، فجأة سمعت طلقة رصاص لم رأيته يسقط على الأرض مضرجاً بالدماء، عمّت الصيحات فسحبتها أنا من يدها بسرعة وخرجنا من المكان.
فوجئ الجميع بظهور سام والد ميتش الذي كان في السجن بتهمة تجارة مخدرات، فاقترب من أمل وقال لها: "إذا كنت ترغبين بالثروة التي تركها أبني ميتش، عليك أن تبقى في فرنسا، أما إذا غادرت إلى لبنان حياتك مقابل الثروة"، فأجابته "الثروة".
أخيراً قررت أن أهدئ زوبعة الحب التي كانت تجتاح كل كياني بسببها، كما أني ندمت على محاولتي للوصول إليها، سألت نفسي من جديد هل ما زلت أحبها؟.
ذات يوم فيما كنت في المستشفى، وصلت امرأة حامل وهي بحالة خطرة إلى قسم الطوارئ، وكنت أنا المشرف ذلك المساء على المرضى، حاول الأطباء المسعفين أن ينقذوا حياة الجريحة الحامل، وكان من المفروض إنقاذ الطفل حيث أنها كانت على وشك الولادة... فاقتربت منها وإذ بي افاجأ أنها أمل.
