أن بحثنا في أهدافه، لا يتطلع إلى تناول القصَّة القصيرة القطرية بالشرح، والتفسير، قصد الوصول إلى حقيقة ما، كما لا يهدف إلى تقييم العناصر الفنيّة المُوظفة فيها، أو استخلاص الأنساق الثقافية، أو الاجتماعية، أو السياسية الكامنة في بنية النصّ العميقة، وربطها بمُعطيات الواقع، أو الوصول إلى مقصدية النصّ، أو مقصدية الذّات (الكاتب أو المُتلقّي)، بل يتطلع البحث في أبعاده إلى تحقيق عدة أهداف إجرائية، تتعلق بعدة محاور مُختلفة، منها: * مُحاولة تطبيق المقولات الفلسفية والإجرائية التي جاء بها رواد نظريَّة التلقّي - بخاصة آيزر Iser - على القصَّة القصيرة القطرية المُعاصرة، والتَّعرف إلى مدى قابلية تطبيق هذه المفاهيم النظريَّة، واشتغالها على جنس القصَّة القصيرة. * تتبّع البُنى النصّية المُحفّزة على عمليات الفهم المُركبة لدى المُتلقّي، غيابًا وحضورًا، دورها في إنتاج المعنى الجمالي. هذه الأهداف الإجرائية المُعلنة للبحث، تقودنا إلى الأهمية العلمية، والإضافة البحثية التي ترجوها دراستنا، فيما رسمته من محاور مُتعلقة بالنظريَّة الأدبيَّة، والدراسات النقدية، والنظر في القصَّة القصيرة القطرية. ومن ثمّ، يمكن القول إن هذا البحث قد يكون موضع عناية المُهتمين بالنظريَّة الأدبيَّة لما فيه من تطبيق ومُمارسة للمقولات النظريَّة المجردة. وكذلك المُهتمين بالدراسات النقدية التي تسعى إلى تجاوز الإجراءات السياقية في التناول. وفي المقام الأول، عناية الكتّاب القطريين، إذ سيمكّنهم من التعرّف إلى إواليات إنتاج المعنى، والبُنى المُحفزة لعملية التلقّي؛ وهذا من شأنه أن يُحقق أكبر قدر من التفاعل والاشتباك مع نصوصهم.
