لقَد صارت الرواية اليوم مُنتجاً أدبيّا يعرفُ استهلاكاً كبيراً في أوساطالقراء على اختلاف مستوياتهم، عكس الشّعر الذي انحسر تلقّيه بشكل ملحوظ. وصرنا نلاحظُ هجرةً جماعية إلى الكتابة الروائية من قبل أسماء مرموقة، بل إنّ أسماء متميزة في الفكر العربي اختارت أن تكتبَ هذا الجنس الأدبي، نذكر على سبيل المثال: عبد الله العروي وشُكري المبخوت. وإذا بحثنا في أنطولوجيا الرواية العربية وجدنا انتقالا ملحوظاً من التخييل التام والسرد من أجل السّرد إلى تحوّل السّرد إلى حلوى لذيذة تخبّئ داخلها الفكر والقضايا التي تحاجج بخصوصها تصريحا وإضماراً. هذا التطور الحاصل في الرواية، والتوجه إليها إنتاجاً وتلقّيا يفرضُ علينا تحليلها حجاجيا، باعتبارها أيديولوجيا، والبحث في قضاياها وطاقاتها الإقناعية.
