يذهب جمال نصار حسين في كتابه هذا إلى أن العلم المعاصر متحيّز وذلك بسبب من تركيزه على دراسة ظواهر الوجود المألوفة وتغاضيه عن الظواهر الخارقة للمألوف لا لشيء إلا لأنها تستعصي على التفسير من قبل منظومته المعرفية التي يفسّر بها الظواهر المألوفة، ولأن الظواهر الخارقة للعادة والمألوف تحدث بالفعل، فإن هذا الكتاب يدعو إلى تأسيس علم جديد، وفلسفة جديدة، يستوعبان ظواهر الوجود قاطبة خارقها ومألوفها.
وهذا ليس بالأمر الهيِّن: فهو يهم كل إنسان في كل مجتمع وذلك لأن من شأنه أن يغيّر من قناعاتنا ومما اعتدنا على التسليم بأنه يمثل الحقيقة المطلقة، وبالتالي فإنه يغيّر نظرتنا إلى الحياة بأكملها.
إن هذه الدعوة إلى إعادة الإعتبار للظواهر الخارقة إنما تمثل خطوة على طريق الإرتقاء إلى حضارة جديدة، وبسبب من تركيز الكتاب على ظواهر الشفاء الخارق التي يستعرضها الدراويش، وذلك لما تتميز به عن غيرها من الظواهر الخارقة للعادة من إمكانية إستعراضها في كل زمان وفي أي مكان، كانت هذه الخطوة صوفية.
