جاء هذا الكتاب ليكون بين يدي الطالب والشاب والفتاة والمواطن العادي وأساتذة الإعلام نضع من خلاله تصورات للتعامل مع الرسائل الإعلامية التي يتعرض لها الجمهور بشكل عام على مدار الساعة من خلال وسائل الإعلام المختلفة ومساعدتهم على ما يلي:
• اكتساب مهارات التفكير الناقد واتخاذ القرارات الصائبة حيال ما يتعرّضون إليه من رسائل إعلامية.
• التركيز على كشف الرسائل المزيفة والقيم غير الملائمة، وتشجيع الطلاب بالذات على رفضها وتجاوزها، وحُسن الانتقاء منها والتعامل معها والمشاركة فيها بصورة فعَّالة.
• نشر مفاهيم التربية الإعلامية وفق أُطر المبادئ والقيم التي تتبناها الدولة في أذهان الطلبة من خلال اتباع الرقابة الذاتية والممارسات الإيجابية في التواصل مع الآخرين.
• تشكيل وعي لدى الطلبة حول أهمية المعلومات وخطورتها، وكيفية تبادلها على مختلف منصات الإعلام الرقمي التي تقود المشهد داخل المجتمعات.
• تبصير الطالب بسلبيات الاعلام الاجتماعي التي تتمثل في بث الأفكار المتطرفة والشائعات، ونشر الأكاذيب والمعلومات المغلوطة، وانتهاك خصوصية الآخرين، وتنفيذ جرائم النصب والاحتيال عبر الشبكة العنكبوتية.
• حماية الطلبة وأفراد المجتمع من التضليل الذي يعتري بعض الأخبار والمعلومات المتداولة والممارسات السلبية.
