دخل الإعلام المصري حالة استقطاب بعد ثورة 25 يناير، حيث شكّلت لحظة رحيل مبارك نقطة فارقة في مسيرة الإعلام المصري، الذي وجد نفسه فجأة متحرراً من معظم القيود الأمنية والإدارية، ولكن هذه الحرية تحولت إلى فوضى إعلامية، ولم تقم السلطة الانتقالية، ممثلة في المجلس العسكري، بأيّ خطوات لإعادة تنظيم الإعلام هيكلياً وتشريعياً.
واعتمدت وسائل الإعلام (التي ينتمي معظمها إلى بُنى "الدولة العميقة"، وإلى رجال أعمال معادون للتيارات الإسلامية أو للمسار الديموقراطي) الهجوم المنظم والمستمر على الرئيس مرسي وجماعة الإخوان طوال عهده، وحرصت على تحميلهما مسؤولية أيّ إخفاق أو سلبيات، حتى لو كانت مزمنة ومتوارثة منذ عهد مبارك. ودخل الإعلام بعد عزل مرسي منعطفاً خطيراً، حيث شهد تراجعاً في القيم المهنية في الأداء الإعلامي، مع تراجع أكبر في مساحة الحريات الصحفية.
نسلط الضوء في هذا الكتاب على تطور الأداء الإعلامي المصري منذ ثورة 25 يناير حتى نهاية سنة 2015.
