"لقد مضى على تهجير اليهود من العراق مكرهين أكثر من ستة عقود ولكن كبار السن ما زالوا يحنون للعراق ويتذكرون ويذكرون لونهم الذي زها به الطيف العراقي، وأنتج في حينها الثقافة والصحافة والفن والبحوث الإقتصادية والأدبية ونشاطهم الإقتصادي والطبي والقانوني."
لقد استوطنوا العراق منفيين قبل حوالي 2600 عام منذ السبي البابلي بقيادة الملك نبوخذ نصر الثاني، لكن الخطاب العام بالثقافة العراقية ما زال متشنجاً بصددهم لجهل الأجيال الصاعدة لسيرتهم وسماتهم واندماجهم العضوي داخل الكيان العراقي، بعد أن استرسل من ماض قومي أو طائفي وأوغل في مسخ الهوية الثقافية والذاتية العراقية.
يهود العراق لم يشكلوا يوماً ضلع من أضلع المؤامرة أو يكونوا سبباً في تأسيس إسرائيل عام 1947، لكن تآمر حكام العهد الملكي ورجال الإنكليز في العراق كان سبباً لترحيلهم من العراق.
ولقد خسر العراق بتهجيرهم هذا الرعيل المثقف الواعد الكثير من الكفاءات المهنية والنزاهة والإخلاص في العمل، بينما جنت ثمارهم إسرائيل التي رُحّلوا إليها.
هذه الدراسة تبين ما لدور الكون العراقي المتنوع الذي يمتلك الشعور الوطني والإنساني الحر ليكشف أمام العالم وجه العراق الحقيقي، الوجه المتحرر والديمقراطي والإنساني، ويشير إلى أعداء العراق الذين يحاولون تشويهه وإضعافه بهجمات الأحقاد والإنتقام والمتفجرات والقتل العشوائي وتصفية الأقليات الدينية والإثنية، ما هي إلا محنة عابرة استطاع العراق تجاوز أمثالها مرات عديدة عبر التاريخ.
