لم تكن السّماء مهتمّة ولا مكترثة ولا جادّة في تحويل القرآن من مادّة صوتيّة إلى مادّة مكتوبة محرّرة بين جلدين، فضلاً عن أن تكون قاصدة لتحويل هذه المادّة الصّوتيّة ـ والّتي نزلت أو صدرت في فترة نيّفت على العشرين سنة لأسباب جملة منها آنيّة مختلفة ومتنوّعة ـ إلى دستور دينيّ دائميّ لعموم البقاع والأصقاع حتّى نهاية الدّنيا، ولهذا رحل رسول الإسلام ص إلى ربّه ولم يكتب القرآن بنفسه ولا بإشرافه المباشر ولم يجمعه أصلاً، كما لم يكتبه غيره بجميع آياته أيضاً، وإنّما أُنجزت هذه المهمّة بعد وفاته إثر بدعة أطلقها الخليفة الثّاني عمر بن الخطّاب، ولهذا جاءت تسمية هذا الكتاب: القرآن البعدي.
