إن من نعم الله على الأمة الإسلامية أن ميزها الله وتعالى بميزة، وخصها بخاصية، وهي ميزة الإسناد، حيث يعرف من خلال الإسناد درجة الحديث، فيحكم عليه صحة وضعفاً. من هذه الكتب التي تروي بالسند "جزء أبي الحسن علي بن محمد بن هارون بن زياد الحميري" الذي بين أيدينا والمشتمل على سبعة وخمسين حديثاً وأثراً، منها الصحيح، ومنها الضعيف، ومنها الموضوع، وهو قليل جداً. وقد أدرك مؤلفه العصر الذهبي لتدوين الحديث، فقد عاش في القرنين الثالث والرابع الهجري. ويتميز هذا الجزء بأن راويه، وهو ناسخه عالم متضطلع في مجال الحديث. ولأهمية المؤلَّف هذا ومؤلِّفه قام الدكتور بن سليمان بن إبراهيم البعيمي بالعمل على تحقيقه.
