وليس من قبيل المبالغة أو التقويم إشارتنا إلى فرادة تجربة علاء عبد الهادى فى تضاريس الجغرافية العربية الشعرية، وخاصة تموقعها فى سدة النتاج ما بعد الحداثى بامتياز، بل إنه لمن اليسر اليسير وسمها بالتجربة الإشكالية فى سيرورة الشعر المعاصر ، نظراً إلى بذاخة التجريب، وتراكم الإرتياد، وتعدد الآفاق، فضلاً عن ممارسة الكتابة وفق الأشكال المختلفة للنص الشعرى العربى: عمودى، وتفعيلى، ونثرى، بالإضافة إلى استخدام التناص الكثيف فى حوارية داخلية وخارجية، عربية وعالمية خلاقة، ولعل هذا التحدى الإبداعى الذى يقيمه الشاعر إزاء قارئه، هو الدافع الرئيس من وراء قراءة ديوان "مهمل تستدلون عليه بظل" ومحاولة إعادة إنتاجه من جديد، وقد توخت الدراسة سبر هذا الديوان، وتقديم ما يمكن وصفه بالممكن القرائى الذى يؤهل لولوج عالمه من خلال مصطلح "السر الشعرى".
