"... بين الحين والآخر، كان ثابت يتوقف...، يلقاه رجل فيسأله فيحكى له، فيفعل مثل سابقه، ويخرج "العيال" من "الدروب" وينضمون إلينا حتى وصلنا إلى دوار العمدة، فجرى "طه" الخفير وفي يده "الخيزرانة" ثم جاءت أم "عنتر" ومن بعدها جاءت أم "ماهر" والصول "بخيت" وامتلأ فناء الدوار بالناس.. ، وخرج طه الخفير ضاحكاً ثم حكى للرجل الغريب بعد أن أخذ منه سيجارة واشعلها...
- ثابت.. الراجل غفير مكنه غلبان.. دخل على غفلة... لقى الواد "عنتر" وده عيل يتيم شقى من يومه، راكب لامؤخذه ف الكلام.. الواد التاني "ماهر" برضه التانى مفسود من ساعة ما ولدته امه.. وجنبيهم.. لامؤاخذه "عنب" مقطعينه من عنبه "ثابت" .. راح الراجل رابطهم فى حبل وجابهم على العمدة...
