عملت الدول العظمى على إقصاء بروز أي نظام عربي قوي وموحد، فخلقت عدة محاور للصراع بين الدول العربية من جهة، والدول الإقليمية المجاورة (إيران - تركيا) من جهة أخرى، وأجّجت الصراعات الحدودية بينها.
ومع تغيّر المشهد السياسي العالمي منذ بدء الحرب العالمية الأولى، وما رافقه من تبعيات إقتصادية وأمنيّة وثقافية بصورة متسارعة في العالم، ما أدّى إلى تحوّلات متلاحقة في الدول العربية، ساعدت على زيادة هائلة في التدخلات الخارجية لشؤونها الداخلية في مختلف مفاصلها بما فيها الإجتماعية.
وتم ربط مستقبل الصراع الدولي بالمؤثرات الداخلية والإقليمية والعالمية، وأصبحت ظاهرة هذا الصراع هي التي ترسم مستقبل معالم المنطقة وشكل تكوين العلاقات السياسية الدولية.
فمستقبل الصراع يتحدد مفهومه وفق معطيات البيئة الداخلية ومخرجات المؤثّرات الخارجية، ولم يعد من السهولة إيجاد سيناريو يوصّف شكل التفاعلات التصارعية بوضوح في المنطقة العربية، بسبب كثرة الأحداث والمتغيرات العالمية فيها، بالإضافة إلى كثرة اللاعبين الدوليين والإقليميين.
ومع عودة وتصاعد المدّ الروسي الجديد، أصبح تقاطع مصالح القوى العالمية أمراً واقعياً ومؤثراً بشكل سلبي في حالة التوازن الإقليمي في الشرق الأوسط، فالقوى العالمية المنقسمة أدت إلى تأجيج الصراعات المستفحلة في المنطقة، من خلال دعم حلفائها الإقليميين في الشرق الأوسط وحثهم على المزيد من التصادم والتصارع.
وبالتالي فإن التغيّرات الحادثة في المنطقة العربية الآن، سوف تخرج بالضرورة بمتغيرات جديدة يُعاد معها رسم خريطة الشرق الأوسط، بل وخريطة التحالفات والتوازنات الإقليمية والدولية.
