العمل يمهد بذكر اللحظات الأولى للثورة المصرية وسفر الكاتبة إلى نيويورك ووصف مشاعر الاحترام من الخارج للثورة... ثم ينتقل الى العديد من الأقسام التى تحلل وتعرض عدد كبير من الاحداث والأسباب الأساسية والتى لازلنا نعانى من توابعها والتى منها العداء مع الطبقة الوسطى وحادثة خالد سعيد قتيل الأسكندرية , والعداء مع الطبقة العمالية حيث إرتفاع الأسعار وعدم وضع حد أدنى للأجور , والعداء مع الأقباط (( حادثة نجع حمادى وإضطهاد الناشطين المتعاطفين معها)) , والعداء السياسى والعائلى الذى تمثل فى أنتخابات 2010 , وتوابع تلك العدائات التى أدت الى الغضب الذى أجتاح الشعب بكافة طوائفه من شباب الجامعات وعدم توافر فرص العمل وإهانة الخريج وغضب تفجير كنيسة القديسين وهوه جرح للشعب المصرى .
ثم يتحدث عن تحرير الميدان وخروج المرأة المصرية ,ويعرض لوضع المرأة المصرية وما تعرضت له من انتهاكات على يد النظام السابق في انتخابات 2005 من تحرش جنسي وقهر ومطاردة أمنية .. فضلاً عن ضغوط الأهل مما أدى لوصول عدد حالات انتحار النساء إلى 54 حالة عام 2010، وكذلك يعرض لمكانة المرأة في مصر من خلال الإحصاءات العالمية وكيف كان التناقض واضحًا بين الخطاب الإعلامي الذي يعزف على وتيرة دعم السيدة الأولى للمرأة وبين الواقع الذي تؤكده الإحصاءات العالمية لوضع المرأة المتدني في مصر سواء على المستوى الاقتصادي أو مستوى العمل أو مستوى الحرية ومباشرة الحقوق السياسية وغير ذلك حتى تم اعتبارها مواطن من الدرجة الثانية في تقرير منظمة العفو الدولية لعام 2007.
مع عرض لأدوار عديد والعديد من نماذج لأنتصار المرأة القائد على المرآة الانثى فى الميدان والتى تتناول فيها الكتابة قصص لعديد من الناشطات السياسيات فى كافة الحركات التى قامت , و دورهن في الميدان من توعية الجماهير والإذاعة والخدمة والنظافة والتنظيم ولجان الإعاشة والوقوف عند المداخل لاستقبال الفتيات.. شاملا موقع منظمات حقوق المرأة ودورها في الثورة (رصد ومتابعة لما يحدث – تقديم الدعم الفني والقانوني المباشر – تشكيل مجموعات ضغط). ذاكرةً الحركات التي عملت في هذا كحركة سوا – ومصرية حرة – وائتلاف نساء الثورة.
لتختتم الكاتبة بالحديث عن الثورة الحائرة بين غياب القائد وغموض المستقبل.
