في مجموعته القصصية الجديدة «دهليزُ البلدة» يعتمد الروائي والشاعر والقاص "محمد سليمان الفكي الشاذلي" - الحائز على جائزة الطيب صالح العالمية – أنماطاً أسلوبية حديثة في الكتابة ترتكز بشكل مكثف على التعبير الاستعاري في بناء الصورة في الخطاب السردي، حيث تتحول اللغة من شكلها التقليدي إلى لغة جديدة تميل إلى الإيحائية والبحث فيما وراء المعنى، الشيء الذي يجعل من عملية السرد، عملية متداخلة، يتحول معها كل حدث أو واقعة، إلى فعالية نصية لها أيقوناتها ومساربها اللانهائية. وهذا ما يجعل من قصص المجموعة فضاءً تأويلياً يجمع شظايا أصواتاً مبعثرة ويحيلها إلى مصادر تأويلية ممكنة تؤكد أن جميع تلك الأصوات (الروائية) هي ظلال درامية أو ضمائر خفية لصوت ذي خطاب واحد. هي المؤلف/الراوي، أو بطل القصة ذاتها.
- من أجواء المجموعة القصصية وتحت عنوان "السيف والزمن" نقرأ:
".. كان هناك رجل قاتل ورجل سيُقتل، وكان كلاهما ينتظر اللحظة التي ستسيل فيها الدماء. "ستقتلني بعد لحظة، أليس كذلك؟". "نعم سأقتلك بعد لحظة". لكن القاتل لم يفعل. اللحظة التي امتدت فصارت دقائق. "ستقتلني بعد دقيقة، أليس كذلك؟". "نعم سأقتلك بعد دقيقة". الدقائق تمددت لساعات. "ستقتلني بعد ساعة، أليس كذلك؟". "نعم سأقتلك بعد ساعة". الساعات تحولت إلى أيام، إلى شهور وأعوام. وذات عام استيقظ القاتل باكراً، ورفع سيفه فسأله الرجل الذي سيُقتل: "هل ستقتلني هذا العام؟". "دعنا نضرب موعداً في العام القادم، ما رأيك؟". "فليكن يا قاتلي العزيز. فليكن...".
- تضم المجموعة تسعة عشر قصة قصيرة جاءت تحت العناوين الآتية: "دورست هاوس"، "عشاء على ضوء الشموع"، "المحقق هيثكليف"، "النبع والجداول الكثيرة"، "الخنثى"، "المسافرة"، "تغيُّرات اللسان"، "ذي بلغريم"، "ليلة الشط في برايتون"، "من أين تأتي هذه الأصوات؟"، "قميص نوم وردي"، "توب ماركة رسالة لندن"، (...) وقصص أخرى.
