"لا ريب في أنّ رسوم التحلّل والتبعيّة وفَقد القيمة والمعنى، في جملة بنى الإجتماع العربيّ، تشتدّ وتتعاظم منذ أن أصيبت في الصميم حركات التحرّر الّتي نجمت في العقد الثاني من هذا القرن، وأنّ كلّ سرديّات التنوير الّتي شقيت من أجل إِنفاذها أجيال النهضة – الإستقلال، والتحرّر، والأصالة، والحرّيّة، والعدل، والعقلانيّة، والإصلاح، والوحدة، والتواصل، والتقدّم الإجتماعيّ، والأخلاقيّ – قد شهدت مضادّاتها، لا جدى من "خطاب العِلل"، لكلّ زمن أحكامه، وما يحكم اليوم هو أنّ "الأنوات" "النابتة"، من سدَنةِ التبعيّة والفساد والإستبداد والخنوع، الفاقدين للقيمة والمعنى، تخرق حرمةَ التاريخ والوطن والأرض والإنسان، وتوقظ فينا الوعي الممضّ بأنّنا ما نزال على أعتاب "سنّ الرشد"، وأنّ "التنوير" هو، من جديد، القدرُ الّذي ينتظرنا، والّذي ينتظرنا، والّذي تجب استدامته".
فهمي جدعان: من مواليد قرية عين غزال (قضاء حيفا، فلسطين)، دكتوراه الدولة في الآداب (جامعة باريس، السوربون)، أستاذ الفلسفة والفكر العربيّ والإسلاميّ الحديث والمعاصر في عدّة جامعات عربيّة، وفي جامعة باريس (السوربون الجديدة)، وأستاذ زائر في الكوليج دي فرانس بباريس، له كتب عديدة وأبحاث ومقالات وفيرة، منح عدّة أوسمة وجوائز علميّة وثقافيّة رفيعة.
