في هذا الكتاب قراءة إشعاعيّةٌ لتناسخ الصدمة في البحث عن التوازن والمعنى و"السبب الرئيسي" و"الكلّيّة" منذ أقدم الفلسفات حتّى الفيلسوف الأخير؛ بدايةً من عنترة وعقدة الإعتراف والتناقض اللونيّ والقبليّ والهلوسيّ، في طباق مع الصعاليك حيث التمرّد وتوحيد "اللاوحدة" وإستعارة المتنبّي حيث النبوءة بين القناع والسيف واللغة.
على الصعيد العالميّ، يحاور الكتاب "هاملت" شيكسبير بجرأة تشبه غريزيّة العقل، حيث فقدان التوازن عندما تكون الأخيلة أشدّ وضوحاً من الإدراك، في تناصّ مع المعرّي حيث الشكّ في أرجوحة العبث.
تتصاعد القراءة توتّراً عند محاورة دستويفسكي وصراع العودة إلى الذات لتبلغ ذاتها وتنتج الهلاميّة والفراغ، مروراً بالحركة الدادئيّة وصراعها الّذي سيجعل الفرد وحده يستمع لموسيقى اليأس الأبديّة وهي تعزف فوق مروجه المحروقة، عندما يقف بيكيت منشداً: الشقاوة دورةٌ أبديّة.
