قارة المدينة المعروفة في ريف دمشق (منطقة القلمون) جَهِدَ المؤلف في جمع ما أمكنه من المعلمات تحمل قيمة وثائقية جيدة، وتُقيْد جانباً مهماً من جوانب التراث الشعبي في هذه المدينة بخاصة، وريف دمشق عامة، قبل أن تضيع معالمها مع الزمن، كما ضاع كثيرٌ من العادات والمرويَّات والادوات والحرف، وغيرها مما لم يتم جمعه وتوثيقه.
وقد جعل المؤلف كتابه موزَعاً على تسعة أبواب، الباب الأول ذكر فيه إلماحة تاريخية وأثرية للمدينة، والثاني لجغرافيتها الطبيعية، والثالث لسكانها، فتحدَث عن نماذج المساكن القديمة، وعن أنماط المعيشة، وفي الرابع تحدث عن الزراعة والصناعة، فذكر الصناعات الغذائية المحلية، والطبخات المحلية، وفي الخامس نقرأ عن بدايات التعليم في قارة وأبرز رجالاته، والسادس خصَّصه لتراجم الشعراء الشعبيين في البلدة، والسابع عن المرويّات الشفوية: الادب الشعبي، ومقتطفات من الأمثال الشعبية وإن تقاطعت مع أمثال باقي الأرياف والمدن السورية، وكذلك بعض الحكايا، وبعض عبارات المجاملة، وفي الثامن نتعرَّف خصوصية العرس الشعبي في قارة وتفاصيله، وكذلك الأعياد والمآتم، وفي التاسع والأخير نَمرُّ على الأحياء القديمة، فالجديدة، وعلى الوحدة الإرشادية، والجمعية الفلاحية، وغير ذلك.
