إن كتاب "أديان قديمة وسياسة حديثة هو تحليل مسحيٌّ مقارن ألّفه باحث عالمي رائد في مجال الدراسات الخاصة بإسلام ما قبل الحداثة، وهو كتاب يسلّط ضوءاً مهما على العلاقة بين النصوص الأساسية لتراث هذه الأديان الثلاثة وسياسة تابعيها اليوم.
