هذا هو الجزء الأول من سلسلة "أعلام السياسية في العراق" للكاتب "مير بصري" وهو كسالفه يعتبر مرجعاً هاماً من حيث إلقاء الضوء على ماضي العراق السياسي، من خلال تأريخه لشخصيات سياسية عراقية، لعبت أدواراً طلائعية في تسيير دفة الحكم، والنهوض بهذا البلد في فترات من ماضيه، رغم ما شاب هذه الفترات من تقلبات الأحوال، وسخونة الأحداث وقيام الثورات، وما خالط كل ذلك من أخطاء وتعسفات وسلبيات، هذا بالإضافة إلى ما حملته الأوضاع الجديدة والوقائع المستحدثة، من جوانب إيجابية وإصلاحات وعطاءات، تمس كل مناحي الحياة وجميع طبقات المجتمع.
وإن العراق بنسيجه المتنوع، وطوائفه المتباينة، ومذاهبه المختلفة، من سنة وشيعة، ومن أكراد وتركمان، وعرب مسلمين ومسيحيين، وأقليات يهودية، قد عرف دائماً كيف يحافظ على وحدته السياسية والإقليمية، ولا شك أنه اليوم سيتغلب على مظاهر الفرقة الشتات، ونعرات العصبية والطائفية وتداعيات الخلافات السياسية والفكرية والإيديولوجية، وكيف لا وهو مهد الخلافة الإسلامية، وأرض الحضارات القديمة من بابلية وآشورية وعربية؟!
وإن الكاتب وفق في رصد الأحداث، وإبراز الشخصيات، والوقوف عند بعض الوقائع، ووزن بعض الواقف الأخرى، وذلك بأسلوب رصين، وتحليل جاد، لا يخلو أحياناً من روح مرحة وطبيعة ساخرة، مستفيداً في كل ذلك من شخصيته المتوازنة والمتبصرة، وثقافته الشمولية والموسوعية، وتجاربه الغنية والمتعددة، التي عرفها في عالم السياسية والإدارة والتجارة والاقتصاد، وخبرها من خلال المهام التي أنيطت بع سواء في داخل العراق أو خارجه.
