في هذا الكتاب يتناول الأسباني "مارسيلو فيلكاس" أعمال القاص والناقد العراقي "عبد الله ينازي" بالدراسة والتحليل، ومنها أربعاً من مجاميعه القصصية هي: "بقايا ضباب"، "أعياد"، "الهمس المذعور"، وقصته الطويلة أناهيد.
ولأهمية هذه الدراسة ارتأى الأستاذ "حسين نهاية" ترجمة أجزاء مما ورد منها وجمعها في كتاب يحمل عنوان (في القصة العراقية: عبد الله نيازي نموذجاً)، قدم لها بمقدمة عن حياة عبد الله نيازي الأدبية الغزيرة الإنتاج حيث نشر نيازي ثماني مجموعات وعدد من القصص والمقالات في الصحف العرقية وكان أول كتاب نشر له في عام 1949، وآخر كتاب في عام 1971، وأول قصة نشرت له في الصحف كانت في عام 1948، وآخر قصة في عام 1969.
وفي هذا السياق تمت محاورة نصوص المجموعة الآنفة الذكر في محاولة للبحث عن نقاط الصلة التي تربط بين النصوص واللغة المشتركة بينها على ما يرى الأستاذ "نهاية" ففي قصة "أصحاب الرجولة وصاحبات الكبرياء": "توكيد غرامي صريح تعوّض عنه عناصره السادية، بغضب يستحيل إلى دمار ذاتي في بعض الأحيان.
ويدور الحوار حول لعبة عاطفية مسلية جداً، هدفها الوحيد الإغراق في الإثارة... إنها تعد واحدة من القصص الجوهرية في أعمال عبد الله نيازي، إنها قصة جريئة بعض الشيء ومنسجمة بإتقان، وهي في الوقت ذاته تمثيل رائع لقريحة متدفقة ولاذعة على لسان كاتب يرفض أطرفاً كهذه".
أما مجموعة "بقايا ضباب" فجميعها تتخذ من السيرة الذاتية محوراً لها، وفيها يصور المؤلف إصطدام شاب قليل الخبرة بتناقضات الحياة الواقعية، وأما "أنا هيد". فتدور في عالم الخيال والرغبة المتحررة.
