«أنا على عكس كثيرين من الكُتاب أعرف قارئي جيدًا؛ لأن القارئ الذي أتوجه إليه قارئ شبهي، يحب اللك ويعشق الاستطراد، ليس لديه ما يخسره وليس عنده ما يكسبه، يحب تقليب المواجع على نفسه ويموت في السخرية من نفسه الأمارة بالحزن، لا يحب قراءة الدراسات النقدية ولا الأعمال الأولى للكُتاب، ويفضل مشاهدة فيلم جيد على قراءة كتاب غير مضمون المستوى، قارئ يحب الكُتاب الذين يضعون في كتابهم صفحات كثيرة تُعرفهم بالكاتب وتستعرض إنجازات الكاتب ومناصبه وإسهاماته في الحياة حتى يحسوا أنهم لم يأخذوا مقلبًا عندما اشتروا كتابًا كهذا، ولذلك سأفعل في كتابي هذا وسأستعرض كل عضلاتي على القراء وسأكتب لهم صفحات مطولة عن مشواري الحافل في الحياة وأشعرهم بأنني أَحسن منهم بألف مرة وأنهم لا بد أن ينسحقوا أمامي وهم يقرأون لي، فيعتبروا كل ما أكتبه تحفة أدبية لأنها صدرت عن شخـص قام بأشـياء لا يَقـدرون على القيـام بهـا.. هذا يا صديقي هو القارئ الذي أتمنى الوصول إليه، وإذا نجحت في الوصول إليه فلست أطلب فشلًا أكبر من هذا».
