● يعمل صحفياً، كتب مقالات ونشر قصصاً قصيرة وبضع مسرحيات في الصحافة والمجلات العراقية والعربية.
● غادر وطنه في آب/ أغسطس 1963، بعد الانقلاب العفلقي الدموي في العراق.
ولم تسنح له العودة إليه طيلة الوقت.
● عضو اتحاد الأدباء العراقيين.

في لقاءات لاحقة فسر إبراهيم لمحمود صعوبة العيش منفياً بلا وثيقة ما. حدثه عن البواخر التجارية وعن البحر في دلمون حيث عمل هناك وعن أبناء وطنه غرباء تجارين وبنائين وعمالاً أجراء يسعون إلى تشييد سقف مالي فوق رؤوسهم. حدثه عما قرأه في مسرحية أوديب لسوفوقليس قال فيها كريون "لم أولد وعندي الرغبة في أن أكون ملكاً بل ولدت وعندي الرغبة أن أعيش كذلك!".
شغلت الفكرة ذهن إبراهيم مفكراً بإغواءات التماهي وتعامل الإنسان منذ خلق آدم والآلهة والأديان ثم الحياة ما بعد الموت ولازم هذا التماهي الولاء له، الكفران به يساوي الزندقة.
والآن تبدو لابراهيم فكرة أن تعيش ملكاً أو كملك، لا بد من آثار تتركها في علاقات الإنسان بنفسه ومع الآخر والعالم ولم يستبعد تأثير ذلك في السياسة. وهذه بدورها تطالب بولاءات وإغواءات متنوعة.
داخل المقهى رائحة ظل بارد وأصوات غسل للإستكانات والوصيف ساخن وفي الهواء رائحة غبار وأصوات أتوبيسات سطوحها حمراء لماعة في ضوء الشمس.
