وتورد مقدمة المجموعة نتفا من السيرة الشخصية للراوي حيث ما زال خرطوم الجن يحوم في شوارع الخرطوم، وما زالت قصصه تعيش مع أبطالها ومع قارئيها ومع كارهيها، يعيش سعيدا دون أن يعكّر على نفسه بالإجابة على أسئلة الخرطوميين حول شخصيته الغريبة وغير المكتملة وغير المفهومة وغير المنطقية.
وتعد هذه المجموعة الثانية للكاتب حسام الدين صالح بعد مجموعته القصصية الأولى (المتدحرجون من الخرطوم) التي نشرها بالقاهرة في العام 2011م.
