من خلال دراسة موضوع "مستقبل التوازنات الجيوإستراتيجية العالمية" يتضح أن التطورات المتسارعة والمتغيرات الدولية التي تشهدها البيئة العالمية تعيد رسم صيرورة وشكل التوازنات الجيوإسراتيجية العالمية، فمع مطلع القرن الحادي والعشرين تراكمت العديد من المؤشرات والمتغيرات التي تدل على أن حركة التوازنات العالمية على وشك الإنتقال إلى مرحلة جديدة تؤكد تراجع قدرة الولايات المتحدة على التحكم بتوجيه حركة التوازنات بصورة منفردة، وعلى الرغم من أنها ما زالت الأقوى لكنها لم تعد الطرف الوحيد في معادلة التوازن، إذ إن بروز القوى العالمية الكبرى تمتلك القدرات والإرادة والأداء الفاعل فضلاً عن براعتها في مواجهة أو الحد من القدرة الأمريكية على التحكم بحركة التوازنات بوسائل القوى الناعمة والصعود السلمي أو ما يدعى بــ "التوازن الناعم" والدعوة إلى الإلتزام بقواعد القانون الدولي وعدم الإحتكام إلى القوة العسكرية في إدارة الأزمات الدولية ومعالجة الأهداف والمصالح تبعاً لأسس الشراكة، فيما تترقب الولايات المتحدة بقلق متزايد تقلص فارق تفوق قدراتها العسكرية والإقتصادية بالمقارنة مع تلك التي تمتلكها الصين وكذلك روسيا ومجموعة من القوى الموصوفة بالناشئة ومنها الهند والبرازيل، الأمر الذي سيعجل نهاية عصر ما يسمى الإمبراطورية الأمريكية يتقدم زمنياً وبسرعة مذهلة، مع تمكن القوى العالمية من توحيد قواها على وفق أطر شراكة جيواقتصادية وجيوسياسية فضلاً عن العسكرية إلى توقف تمدد الهيمنة الأمريكية على العالم.
