لا يوجد في تاريخ فلسطين الطويل مثل آخر على نكبة فلسطين عام 1948 وما تلاها من أحداث، لقد اقترفت الصهيونيّة أكبر جريمة في التاريخ المسجّل، وهي إقتلاع شعب من وطنه، والإستيلاء على أرضه وممتلكاته، ومحو آثاره العمرانيّة والتاريخيّة، وإستبدال شعبها الأصيل بشعب غريب مستورد وعقيدة عنصريّة وتاريخ مختلق.
هذا الكتاب هو عصارة مجهود استمرّ نحو 20 عاماص لجمع الوثائق والصور والخرائط عن فلسطين، إبتداءً من الحرب العالميّة الأولى ووعد بلفور، مروراً بالإنتداب البريطانيّ، وتفاصيل النكبة، وكيفيّة تدمير فلسطين وبناء "إسرائيل" على أرضها، وتوزيع اللاجئين في الوطن والشتات.
لكنّ الكتاب لا يسرد هذا الفصل من تاريخ فلسطين مستنداً إلى أكثر من 500 مرجع وحسب، بل يخطّط لفلسطين الغد بتحقيق حقّ العودة من ناحية الأرض والشعب والقانون، ويضع برنامجاً لذلك، وهو الأمر الّذي اكتسب أهميّة متزايدة في مراكز البحث الدوليّة وجمعيّات حقوق الإنسان.
هذا الكتاب ذخيرة كبرى للشباب الّذين لم يعرفوا فلسطين إلاّ من ناحية الوجدان والتمسّك بالحقّ، وهو يزوّدهم بمادّة غنيّة عن الأرض والشعب واللاجئين والحدود وعن قرى فلسطين ومدنها بالمراجع والخرائط والجداول والصور، وهو مرجع هامّ لتنوير الشباب، وللدراسة في المدارس والجامعات، وللباحثين وأهل القلم وأهل السياسة.
