في هذا الكتاب يتحدث الخطيب الشيخ محمد رضا الحكيمي الحائري عن سيرة حياة الإمام الحسن العسكري، فيبدأ بتاريخ مولده سنة 232ه، وأبوه: أبو الحسن عليّ المتوكل بن محمد القانع بن علي الرضا، وأمه يقال لها سوسن والجدة، وكانت من العارفات الصالحات، وأما إسمه: فالحسن، وكنيته: أبو محمد، ولقبه الخالص والهادي والسراج والعسكري. وفي هذا السياق يتابع المؤلف في ذكر مناقبه عليه السلام، وإمامته، وذكر بعض كلامه ووصاياه، ومعاجزه، فيخبر بـ (160) معجزة من معجزاته عليه السلام مع ذكر للمصدر، وأخيراً مرضه واستشهاده.
وهكذا يجمع مؤلف الكتاب نماذج سجّلها التاريخم، وطفحت بها الآثار المروية في كتب الحديث والتفسير والتاريخ من معجزات الإمام أبي محمد الحسن بن علي العسكري – صلوات الله عليه وعلى آبائه الكرام.
