الباب الاول يمثل الاطار العام الذي يغطي موضوعات الكتاب والذي ينطلقمن مفهوم اساسى وهو ان المحاسبة الإدارية هى في واقع الامر نظام للمعلومات تتوافر فيها كل العناصر الوظيفية لنظم المعلومات. والابواب من الثاني إلى نهاية الباب الخامس تخص بنماذج القرارات وتطبقاتها في مجالات التسغير وتخطيط وجدولة الانتاج والاستثمارات. أما الباب السادس فيتاول موضوع الرقابة وتقييم الأداء من حيث تقارير الأداء عن الانشطة فيتضمن شرحا تفصيليا لمؤشرات تقييم الاداء للقطاعات المستقلة في ظل اللامركزية. وينتهي الكتاب بالبا الثامن الذي يتعلق بمراقبة انحرافات التكاليف من حيث المراقبة الاحصائية ومن حيث تطبيق نظرية القرارات في هذا المجال. ويأمل المؤلف ان يحقق هذا الكتاب الأهداف التعليمية المرجوه منه.
