وقد ذكر فيه تاريخ المسجد الحرام، وبنائه وعمارته في مختلف العصور، متحدثاً عن الملامح الجغرافية والتاريخية والسياسية والاجتماعية للجزيرة العربية، مع تنويهه بفضائل الكعبة والأعمال المتعلقة بها والمواضع المباركة في مكة وحرمها، مع استقصاء لتاريخ مكة في الجاهلية، والتحدث عن المآثر التي أقيمت بمكة وحرمها، مضيفاً إلى ذلك كله ما وصل إلى علمه من أخبار ولاة مكة في الإسلام، كما تحدث فيه عن مكة وحرمها، والآثار المروية فيها، ووف الكعبة وعمارتها، ومصلى الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم، وثواب دخول الكعبة وفضائلها، والآيات المتعلقة بها، وأخابر الحجر الأسود... كما وتكلم عن توسعه المسجد الحرم وعمارته... كما وعمد إلى سرد أخبار بني قصي ومآثرهم في الجاهلية، وأجواء قريش وحكامهم في الجاهلية.
