"حين تقرؤني حرفاً حزيناً فاعلم أنّ كل حرف في معبدي شجن" هكذا تريد الشاعرة أسماء بنت صقر بن سلطان القاسمي؛ لإيقاع كلماتها أن تضطلع بمهمة تقديم جديدها الشعري "في معبد الشجن" ، لتقوله ترنيمة حزن وعشق في آن معاً وبخطاب له سمات تعبيرية ووظيفية تبرز الضعف الأنثوي تارة وقوته تارة أخرى، وقد ساهمت في تشكيله الشاعرة من خلال سردها لتفاصيل لحظات آنية أو مترسبة في الذاكرة، تبثها عبر رسائل شعرية "أنا / في مدينة من مدن التعب / ولدتُ / وعلى أرصفة الشك / نشأت / تؤويني خيمةٌ من وهم: / وتغسلني غيمةٌ / من عذاب ..."، هكذا ترتدي الذات / الشاعرة) حروفها، وفيض كلماتها لتسير بها من مؤداها الرومانسي الذاتي نحو الموضوعة الدرامية "أردت لقلبي أن يستريح / فطلبت من دموعي أن تتعب / قلتها وأنا أخمد نيرانها المشتعلة / في دفتر ذكرياتي". وعلى هذا المنوال يتركز الخطاب الشعري عبر مجموعة من الصور الموحية التي تخرج بالتجربة من حديث الذكريات، والماضي، إلى بناء الحاضر، والواقع، وبهذا المعنى تتسع الكتابة الشعرية عند الشاعرة القاسمي لكل مراتب الحياة، فتمظهر في أكثر من معنى" وهي تقول ذلك عبر جهاز لغوي ممتلىء بالإيحاءات وبنى التوالد الجمالي والدلالي معاً.
تضم المجموعة سبعة وخمسين نصاً شعرياً جاءت تحت العناوين الآتية: "رسائل" ، "ترانيم المساء" ، "سقوط الملائكة" ، "الوهم" ، "تحقيق الرؤيا" ، "الخطيئة" ، "حقائق واقع" ، "بغداد" ، "أمة الصمت" ، قيثارة العصور كالباء" ، "جنون طقوس أفكاري" (...) وعناوين أخرى.
"إذا اكتشفتم يوماً أن وجوهكم في المرآةلا تشبهكم فلا تكسروا المرأة فالخلل في أعماقكم وليس فيها".
