علمت حبن كنت بمدينة المنصورة ان فيها مكتبة تابعة لمجلها البلدي فزرتها يوم الثلاثاء 10 صفر سنة 1367 ( 23 ديسمبر سنة 1947) على أجد فيها شيئا من نفائس الكتب ونوادر الآثار ن فوفقت إلى كنز من أثمن الكنوز النوادر كتاب (إصلاح المنطق ) لابن السكيت ، وهو كتاب جليل من خير ما اخرجت المكتبة العربية في علوم اللغة وآدابها، بل هو كتاب فذ في بابه ن ونسخة المخطوطة قليلة نادرة في المكاتب العامة. وزاد في نفاسة هذه النسخة ، وأنها أصل من الأصول العالية المعتمدة ،أنها قرئت في سنة 372 على الإمام الكبير( أحمد بن فارس ) أستاذ الصاحب ابن عباد، ومؤلف "مقاييس اللغة" و"الصاحبي" و "المجمل" وغيرها.
