يحاول هذا البحث دراسة البعد الصوفي عبر المقامات الصوفية في شعر ربيعة أبي فاضل، لمعرفة إن كان تصوفاً لاهوتياً مسيحيّاً محضاً، انطلاقاً من دراسته اللاهوت في معاهد إكليريكية، وعيشه الحياة المسيحية الخالصة، فكراً وممارسة وسلوكاً؟
(...) وتهدف الدراسة إلى أن تشمل جميع المراحل الزمنية لتجربته الشعرية كاملة، في محاولة لتوضيح ترقّيه في مقاماته الصوفية، وكيفية تدرّجه بدءاً من مقام التوبة إلى مقام الفناء، كما الترقّي في المقام الواحد. وبذلك تكون هذه الدراسة قد ضمّت الأخلاق الصوفية المتمثّلة بالقيم والفضائل، كذلك المعاملات والمجاهدات والسّلوك الصوفي، مع التطرّق إلى الأحوال الصوفيّة وما يحلّ على السالك من حبّ وغبطة وسكينة وطمأنينة، وصولاً إلى الغاية التي ينشدها عبر المعرفة والمكاشفة والمشاهدة فناء يليه بقاء، وهي المرحلة التي تشكل جوهر الحقيقة الصوفية.
وبذلك يكون هذا الكتاب رصداً للشعر الصوفي ضمن مشروعي البحثي، في سلسلة من الدراسات تتناول العشر العربي المعاصر سعياً إلى إمكانية إثبات وجود مقامات صوفيّة في ظل الحداثة مع التفرد اللغوي والفكري والنحوي والبلاغي فيما يتخطّى الموروث تبعاً لحالة كل شاعر وفق مشاربه الدينية والثقافيّة والفلسفيّة.
