اللغة التركية هي إحدى اللغات الأورالية- الآلطائية. ولغات كلا الفرعين تنتسب جغرافيًا إلى سلاسل جبال الأورال، التي تفصل أوروبا، عن آسيا، وجبال الآلطاي في وسط القارة العريقة آسيا. وأهم اللغات التي تدخل في هذه الأسرة اللغوية هي اللغات المجرية، والفنلندية، والتركية، والمغولية. وتقوم وحدة هذه اللغات على أساس اشتراكها في عدد من الخصائص اللغوية.، والبنيوية؛ ففيها جميعًا يلعب التوافق الصوتي دورًا مهمًا في حركة اللواحق، وتكوين المشتقات. وأوضح ما تكون عليه هذه القاعدة في اللغة التركية.
ولقد استخدمت اللغة التركية، الكثير من الخطوط وأشكال الكتابة، وأهم ما يعنينا هنا، هما؛ الأبجدية التركية العثمانية أي اللغة التركية بالخط العربي العثماني، والأبجدية التركية الحديثة، أي التركية بالخط الأوروبي.
من هذا المنطلق، كان هذا الكتاب، يحمل بين صفحاته، أهم قواعد اللغة التركية في مرحلتيها المشار إليهما... الشكل العثماني لخدمة التراث والحضارة، والتاريخ المشترك بين العرب، والترك تحت مظلة الحضارة الإسلامية المشتركة. وأما الشكل الحديث فأردت به أن أسهل عملية التفاهم، والتفاعل بين الأجيال الحديثة لكي يعيشوا معًا عبق التاريخ المشترك، ويستشعروا سويًا، روعة الحضارة الإسلامية.
وكان المنهج المتبع في هذا الكتاب: نص صغير يحمل أهم سمات القاعدة التي ستدرس، القاعدة تشرح بالعربية، حيث المقصود هم أبناء العربية، ثم الاستشهاد عليها بالشكل العثماني، وفي مقابله الشكل التركي الحديث، الاستشهاد على القاعدة بأكبر قدر ممكن من الجمل التي يتضح فيها التطبيق، تمارين لزيادة اتقان القاعدة، ثم تزويد كل درس وعقب التمارين بمجموعة من النصوص.
