At is a great pleasure for me to share my deepest emotions with you. Being an Arab, it is a big challenge for me to publish poetry in a language not my own. My first encounter with English verse in high school was a love at first sight. This love has grown with me more passionately with the years until it has become my means of expression.
I consider English to be my second language since English literature has been my major in college. My choice of Conrad for my thesis has given me an insight. Somehow, I could indentify with the great nonnative writer who also fell in love with the English language. Though it is through fiction not verse, the English language has also been his means of experession of his innermost feeling and conflicts.
I feel fortunate that through the English language I could extend myself to the world and corss the bridge between East and West. I do pray that you would enjoy my peoms, each of which is an embodiment of a little piece of my soul.
