يستنطق النص الروائي "بخور السراب" للمبدع بشير مفتي، الجرح بعد معاينته الفاجعة له: وهو جرح متعدد الأبعاد والمناحي، يلتصق بالذات وهمومها وتطلعاتها وانكساراتها: أتراحها وأفراحها المجهضة، ما يلتصق بوطن مفجوع مكلوم موزع بين ثورته الممكنة المعلقة وسقوطه الفظيع، وهو جرح يتسرب إلى التاريخ ويتغلغل فيه ويحيل إليه، وزيادة على هذا يغوص العمل في جرح فلسفي عميق يشير إلى الهموم المستبدة المحدقة ويشخصها ويفتح الأسئلة القلقة التي لا تستكين: الأسئلة التي تحاصر الذات والمجتمع والتاريخ وتتربص بهما بين المعاينة الفنية لجرح شديد الغور ورصده فلسفياً تتأطر أجواء هذا العمل الروائي، ويمكن القول أن فرادة هذا العمل الإبداعي تتأتى من كونه يشكل انعطافة نوعية في المسار الإبداعي تتأتى من كونه يشكل انعطافة نوعية في المسار الإبداعي الشخصي للروائي، وهي انعطافة تنحو باتجاه تعميق التجربة الفنية وإمدادها بما يسمح لها بالارتقاء وتوسيع الورشات الكتابية التي ينهل منها الروائي ويغترف: وإنضاج الأدوات الفنية التي يتوسلها مستفيداً من شتى الاشتغالات السردية جزائرياً وعربياً وعالمياً.
